Sorry to hijack, but why do some people have 4 hood pins ? Shouldn't 2 be enough ??? or are you not using the factory latch at all ??

Shouldn't 2 be enough ??? or are you not using the factory latch at all ?? Not a hijack and I've found two to be enough without the factory latch. But I'm using a steel hood. With a fiberglass (and perhaps CF) hood I would definitely use four. In the latter case it might be overkill but over many years I like to over-engineer against vibration damage in rigid materials. The factory latch would be redundant in those cases as well except that a street car may need an inside lock for security. Gussets are good. |
