Howdy all! I just bought my 3rd 914. The first was my first car, I picked it up 5 years ago for $1000 and it's still my daily driver ('74 red car in pic). The second is a '72 5 lug project that I'm selling (see classifieds) because of the car that spawned this thread! This new car will be named New Blue, or Bluetiful, or a much better name if I can come up with one (taking suggestions (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) ). It's a '74 project with FG flares, 5 lug setup, new paint, ?orange? roll cage, and a rediculous amount of loose parts. Oh yeah it's got a 911 Drum E-brake setup that I will be installing and documenting..if I can figure out how!
First of a mighty barrage/broadside of newb questions: do I have the right flywheel? It's 215mm with about 130 teeth, no separate ring gear. The pressure plate part # fits a 2.0L 6 cylinder...how can I determine if I need a 'conversion' flywheel? Yes I will be running a rebuilt 901 box....for now. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sawzall-smiley.gif) Okay onward with the pics! Let me know what you think of it (good and especially bad/suggestions and such). It needs a ton of assembly work no doubt! I assume these are the stock mag valve covers?
