Howdy all! I just bought my 3rd 914. The first was my first car, I picked it up 5 years ago for $1000 and it's still my daily driver ('74 red car in pic). The second is a '72 5 lug project that I'm selling (see classifieds) because of the car that spawned this thread! This new car will be named New Blue, or Bluetiful, or a much better name if I can come up with one (taking suggestions (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) ). It's a '74 project with FG flares, 5 lug setup, new paint, ?orange? roll cage, and a rediculous amount of loose parts. Oh yeah it's got a 911 Drum E-brake setup that I will be installing and documenting..if I can figure out how!

First of a mighty barrage/broadside of newb questions: do I have the right flywheel? It's 215mm with about 130 teeth, no separate ring gear. The pressure plate part # fits a 2.0L 6 cylinder...how can I determine if I need a 'conversion' flywheel? Yes I will be running a rebuilt 901 box....for now. Okay onward with the pics! Let me know what you think of it (good and especially bad/suggestions and such). It needs a ton of assembly work no doubt!

Cheers,
Brent (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

Though I don't have any photos to show, I mounted my Mocal thermostat on the firewall below the engine shelf on the passenger side of the car. Then I modified the oil line that comes from the passenger side of the engine so it attaches to the thermostat (simply cut it and attached an AN fitting). You can also buy a metric/AN adapter to change the fitting on the engine, then use braided hose (at least -12 (3/4") size for enough oil flow) instead of the factory line if that's easier for you. I also believe that Patrick Motorsports sells a modified line for this application.

Once you have things mocked up, it really does go together quite nicely. You'll find that the 2.7 has plenty of grunt and will be very happy. Mine has some E cams and RS pistons, and is a whole lot stronger than my stock 2.0 914-6.

I couldn't help notice that you didn't mention Riquemar. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/stirthepot.gif) Oh, that's right. He would have to show up, for once. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

Woooooow! Wow wow wow! I'm gone for ONE second and look what happens!

I saw this car last night after Cruisin' Grand, and it's definitely a great project with all the parts. This car has all the potential in the world now with Brent and his brother Greg working on it, and they need to get it ready for Rennsport Reunion!
