My brother and I will be at Streets on 7/30 and 7/31 if anyone wants to join.
I've never run with this group, and it's been about 18 months since I've been on the track... http://www.extremespeedtrackevents.com/eve...ge.listevents/- -Steve |

ExtremeSpeedTrackEvents runs Streets the same as a number of other time-trial groups, although, SpeedTrialUSA is my favorite--they are so "driver-friendly." Regardless of the sanctioning group, I have come to understand that the Track-hired start-finish & corner-worker group actually RUNS the events. This is not good news as I have experienced a number of STUPID things they have done: Black flagging me because the failed to notice my car numbers, a corner worker running across the track while I was in the middle of a high-speed section of the track, releasing me from the pits in perfect timing to have an “encounter” with a car already on-track. So don't let the dim-wits intimidate you . There is 1 BIG change in the track since you've been out there: the blind chicane after the exiting bowl straight: It has been extensively widened, is a completely different chicane and is MUCH faster, no down-shift is required. While the blind rise entry to the section always gives “pause”, after a few laps, you will learn that you can go much deeper and carry more speed through the corner. I found the video below and found it quite good in showing the lines around the current track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8oD2_Dh5e4 I’ll be out for the 20 August NIGHT EVENT at Streets with SpeedTrialUSA and would love to see some 914s show up! Best, Terry |

I found the video below and found it quite good in showing the lines around the current track Those are the "safe" lines. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Especially going through the bowl, if you take it wider at the beginning and tuck in about half way through you can exit much faster than what is shown in the video ....
