New Wevo'd 915 from the boys in Phoenix and Tangerine Racing Evo 6 exhaust system all bolted up.
Fired up the engine today after not being run for 12 years! Got oil pressure after a couple of cranks and then she sputtered into life. Webers were dismantled, cleaned and new gasket set fitted beforehand they still need tuning though. Couple of questions re: transmission. What is the recommended oil to use with the 915? Diff is a Wave Trac torque biasing unit. The clearance between the rear shift linkage rod and the headers appears to be very close. Although I haven't bolted it in yet, I fear the rod may contact the exhaust when attempting to shift. Anyone else running this set-up? Thanks again and all comments welcome. I put the 4cyl car with a WEVO (that I mentioned in an email) up on the lift this afternoon.
As far as I can tell, at the tranny connection, the WEVO shift rod is a couple inches higher than the stock sideshift. It isn't any farther to the left though, so there really should be no interference when both ends are connected. |
