I installed a pressure fed tensioner on my 78 3.0 engine. That went well. The VDO sender I am using is a dual post unit that is necesary for the 140 PSI gauge/idiot light. The threads on the sender are a tapered pipe thread about 3/8" similar(but not the same) in size as the sender for the stand alone idiot light. The opening in the new block from the tensioner kit is designed for a later sender with a much larger hole/sender. I bought a brass "adapter" from N Hollywood speedo. It screws together nicely, but relies on crushingand destroying an o-ring for sealing. It is junk and I am certain it will leak. Anybody else ever solved this one? I was thinking of trying to get an old dead sender that fits the tension "block" and drill it out and tap it with the pipe thread.
