Apparently, I lead a dramatic life. That or Mr. Jesus doesn't want me to own 914's. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)
On my way into work this morning in the 914, a semi decides to run me off the road by merging into my lane. I was thinking about that scene in National Lampoon's Xmas Vacation where Clark Griswold drives underneath the Semi's trailer and within the split second I had, considered giving it a try. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) I was in his blind spot, but considering the traffic, it wasn't really something I could help. He forced me about 6in from the Jersey Wall before he realized I was there. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) First reaction was I laid on the horn, which barely drown out the sound of me crapping my pants. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) Needless to say, I need a louder horn. If I can't be seen, I should at least be heard! With that said, I'm not interested in installing a train horn or anything of the like. I've always been interested in the high pitched 911 horns, however. Didn't these come on mid to late 911s? Something like the second horn in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsQftCK4Q6g Or maybe something a little more high-pitched like this one: (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEAGnyWgANY These horns from JC Whitney are pretty cheap and 134db... http://www.jcwhitney.com/134db-dual-trumpe...s/p2009002.jcwx Anybody have any recommendations on loud high-pitched horns? Can the genuine 911 horns be had for cheap? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) |

I have used the little red air horns on my car. They are really loud but I couldn't get them to last more than a year. Seems like I was always replaceing them. "Works fine DON'T last a long time". ( With apologies to Pratt and Whitney).
