I recently bought a vinyl cutter to do some work on my track car and some other projects. Do people in the 914 community need anything?
I've made up a porsche logo that's about 16" tall by 13" wide. Looks nice in the garage or on... well, just about anything! Here are some pictures of what I've done: |

My cutter can take 24" material, but some of what I have is 15" wide. What color are you looking for Zach, for the VW logo?
The way these decals work, the vinyl has an adhesive back and is on a release liner in a big roll. The cutter is like a computerized xacto knife that cuts out the shape I want (I have to send it a vector file from Adobe Illustrator). Then I have to peel off the vinyl I don't want, leaving the final design intact on the release liner. Then I take a large piece of masking tape and apply it overtop. To put the decal on your car, or the wall, or any reasonably smooth surface, you peel the masking tape off and the vinyl pieces are stuck to that. You put it on your surface, rub the vinyl down well (and wait a little while if you've used soapy water to ensure no air bubbles), then peel off the masking tape, leaving the vinyl behind. For the graphics on my orange 944, I just layered the colors. The Jagermeister deer is first a yellow circle, then a brown circle with the sunburst cutout and then a white layer of the deer and the cross. |
