I've got a VW bus shell that looks like it is headed to the U.K. where it will be restored. The receiver is arranging the shipping, but I figured it might be worth asking if anyone has experience with doing this and would have some tips to pass on. The bus has no engine/tranny so I don't know if that limits shipping options.

In case anyone is interested, pictures at http://www.tulpenwerk.com/77bus

I shipped a non-running vehicle to the U.K. a few years back. I had it flatbedded to the shippers warehouse where they put it into a shipping container for transport. I cost the buyer $2000. for the container shipment from the east coast (norfolk, VA) to the U.K. It was another $200 for the flatbed to to the warehouse. It's not cheap when you basically have to pay for the whole container. You may want to get several qoutes from various shipping companies. Good Luck with your shipping adventure...the costs will add up quickly so I hope the buyer is paying for all of it.
