I noticed that several people carry a spare clutch cable, a accell. cable, and fan belt.
Being a newbie how do I know thease parts needs replacement? And if I had the part would I really be able to change it at the side of the road?? |

If the clutch pedal drops to the floor, you need to replace the cable. If the gas pedal don't make the car go varoom, you need to replace the cable. If the gen light comes, you probably need to replace the belt.
Yes, they can all be changed on the side of the road, if ya have the tools. Alternator belt is not as critical if you don't have to use the lights. I've driven 5 miles back to the shop with a busted clutch cable, but when the accelerator cable goes, you don't! |
