I thought I remembered seeing a link at another msg board, about tire size + offset fitments on stock fenders. I'm thinking 15x7's, with +23mm offset and 205/50/15's? what about 225's? Wonder if they will fit. I am hoping I win some old BBS's that are 15x7's on ebay, and want to see what size tires I can find for them. thanks!

Well, I used to run 7x15 911R Fuchs (49mm ET) with 12mm spacers. Without spacers they would have rub the inner fenderwell. So, the real offset with the spacers was 49 - 12 = 37 mm. Like Mike told, 7 inch wide Revolution rims have 35 mm ET cause it is perfect for 914s.
(IMG:http://kotisivu.mtv3.fi/914-6/KUVIA/Tp1.jpg) (IMG:http://kotisivu.mtv3.fi/914-6/KUVIA/TV01.jpg) My new BBSs have 23 mm ET and I have "tubbed" the trailingarms 15 mm. So, the situation is the same as having 23 + 15 = 38 mm ET rims. This is why I did the trailing arm job. I hope you understand my lousy explanations (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) B, no, I didn´t chat with RJ. I have tried it a long time ago, but he was not very interested in giving any information. He only tried to sell his parts to me. The customs and freight made already expencive parts way over my budjets. I have done my own measurements. BTW, I don´t have stiff kitt. Should I have one ?? |
