I am busy sorting out my front suspension and want to fit bump steer spacers. Where do I loosen the steering rack on the steering column in order to lift it up to make space for the bump steer spacers?

QUOTE(ber914 @ May 31 2004, 01:09 AM) Where do I loosen the steering rack on the steering column in order to lift it up to make space for the bump steer spacers? at the base of the column shaft you will find one of the two U-joints that form the Z-bend. the U-joints have splined ends and Dutchman clamps. loosen the clamps, collapse the shafts into the joint. you may have to do the other one at the other end of the intermediate shaft too, but i think i just did the top one and it was enough. make sure the bolts on the clamps are tight when you're done. |
