Hello All, I'm a new member, and I've waited to post until my recently purchased 914 arrived via a big-assed enclosed truck.
I purchased a 1973 914 2.0L from California that I found on "The Samba" and after a week of transport it arrived this morning Light Ivory - VIN = 4732925935 (which I found on this site, but don't know how to update the status). I'm not a first time 914 owner, I owned a 73 914, back in the late 80's as a youngster, and made a lot of mistakes, but always wanted another shot at it. I expect to keep this car a long time, and bring it back to a nice original example. It needs mostly cosmetic work like paint, interior refurb, but it is remarkably rust free. I've lurked long enough, and hope to get to know everyone, and pick your brains on how best to get where I want to be with this car. Turk |

Great looking 1973 2.0. Only one question, what are you doing in the house posting on this forum? Get out there and drive that Porsche!
-Yea, funny story, about an hour after the car arrived, the guys came to "mudjack" the driveway where it enter's the garage. I had to pull it in and close the doors, and wait till afer work today! We now ban all 914's from leaving California. Just can't let you guys take them all... - No, I should be applauded, cause the last two I tried to buy, were shipped off to Europe, we need to keep em in the states if they were delivered here! WOW!! pretty car dude. did it belong to a world member? any chance it came from Alta Loma? just curious where that sexy girl was hiding... - As far as I've been able to determine, it was a Palm Springs car, I bought it from a Samba member near LA. Its unrestored, original paint/interior/engine..everytihng except exhaust it appears. Still trying to dig up more history... Very nice--my favorite color too! What color is your interior? Is it FI or carbed? I've seen pics of that one on the world before, but can't remember when. Maybe Tom posted them on the White 914 thread -Yea, I've had almost exclusily white cars, It really checked all the boxes for me, White, 73/74 2.0L, and as Original as possible. Black Interior. Yes, it has the original FI, seems to start and run really well, but I only put about 50 yards on the car so far (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) Here's a link from the sellers Flicker account that shows lots more details: http://www.flickr.com/photos/31665730@N07/...57628256393873/ Thanks for the kind words and welcome, (I'll have to work on the whole quoting thing....)
