I'm new to this forum and new to these engines, so be easy on me.

So I recently purchased a '73 2.0Lt EFI 914 and desided to replace some of the items. In the process, I discovered that all 4 spark plugs had just a hint of oil on them. Other than being a little oily, they are in great condition. No corrosion, center electrodes like new. What gives?
I also removed the intake manifold to discover a slight coat of oilthru out the inside of it. Not baked and not so fresh that I would have enough for an oil change. What I find a little bazzar is that, the car along with the engine, have been in storage for 20 years. (this is the reason why I'm checking and double checking parts before I try to start it)

Any thoughts?

Thanks for the help.
