 Trunk colors...were early cars originally painted black? |

Looked at two nice early cars and both had black front/rear trunks (the cars were not black cars!). My cars are all later models and the trunks are body color. Were the trunks on the cars I looked at painted black for some reason or was there a change?
I tried a search but could not get a pertinent result. |

I didn't think so. Two cars had that...I thought that was wrong.
