Hey 914 Parking Lot Heros:
Bravo to Matthew Schneider who will be running his 914 at the Streets of Willow Springs this week-end. I can only wish all you parking-lot champs would RISK the next step to REAL track events! Some decades ago, I used to take Top Time of the Day in Dad's REAL 289 Cobra, while always knowing that it was only a step the the Real Driving On-Track. I know there are those nervous feelings of making the step, but I can Promise that the Streets of Willow Springs is the safest track anywhere: there is lots of 'spin-off room' and NOTHING TO HIT. Further, of the Time-Trial groups running these events: SpeedTrialUSA.com, SpeedVentures.com and XtremeSpeedTrackEvents.com, All offer LOW COST driving schools for beginers, followed by at least 2 levels of "intermidiate" classes which allow you to drive as you are comfortable without being DIVE-Bombed by more advanced drivers. So, I'm throwing down the Gauntlet: Are YOU MAN Enough to try a REAL Race Track? I GUARANTEE you will have a GREAT driving experience. The most often comparison: "The MOST FUN you can have with your CLOTHES ON!" While time is short to make the 03-04 Nov. event with Speed Ventures.com, they have another event on 01December at 'Streets (December is often the BEST weather all year at Willow Springs). Come-on REAL MEN! Terry |

Thanks Terry,
Matthew will be heating up those Khumos this weekend at Willow. Still space available for late comers....go to Speedventures.com. He's running our CI car which ain't too shabby. We are building our new 914 racer for next year with Cayenne v8 biturbo power. See you at the races! Marty |

Relative to your bi-turbo car: The concept is exciting, but there are issues to be dealt with when changing to a High-CG engine. I'd be glad to share what I've had to go through with the Chevy engine in getting the car to handle. Best, Terry |

We are taking a whopping 9" out of the oil pan, just like the winning Action Express Racing , Daytona car. Then going to a true dry-sump,, not the Cayenne style. This places the engine down better. Also an inverted gt2 trans at a whopping 175 lbs hanging down low. Still will have 5-6" of ground clearance. Lots of innovations in this car, I will pm you in the near future. |
