Hey 914 Parking Lot Heros:
Bravo to Matthew Schneider who will be running his 914 at the Streets of Willow Springs this week-end. I can only wish all you parking-lot champs would RISK the next step to REAL track events! Some decades ago, I used to take Top Time of the Day in Dad's REAL 289 Cobra, while always knowing that it was only a step the the Real Driving On-Track. I know there are those nervous feelings of making the step, but I can Promise that the Streets of Willow Springs is the safest track anywhere: there is lots of 'spin-off room' and NOTHING TO HIT. Further, of the Time-Trial groups running these events: SpeedTrialUSA.com, SpeedVentures.com and XtremeSpeedTrackEvents.com, All offer LOW COST driving schools for beginers, followed by at least 2 levels of "intermidiate" classes which allow you to drive as you are comfortable without being DIVE-Bombed by more advanced drivers. So, I'm throwing down the Gauntlet: Are YOU MAN Enough to try a REAL Race Track? I GUARANTEE you will have a GREAT driving experience. The most often comparison: "The MOST FUN you can have with your CLOTHES ON!" While time is short to make the 03-04 Nov. event with Speed Ventures.com, they have another event on 01December at 'Streets (December is often the BEST weather all year at Willow Springs). Come-on REAL MEN! Terry |

Terry invited me (insisted) to drive his car @ SOW. I had to turn down his gracious offer. Saturday I have to drive my daughter across town to take her SAT, then to final rehersal. Sunday, she's performing in a rock band at the Route 66 Diner.
Have fun without me! Andys |

I tried my DAMNEST to get AndyS in the car as a thank-you for his 5+ years of spending his time and $$ to come out to the track and show how to make the chassis work. He is a TRUE RACE ENGINEER! There are ONLY 2 people I trust to drive my beast: AndyS is one and my Brother is the other (but I worry about brother). AndyS, being a great Dad, took his daughter to the VITAL SAT test session. I cannot fault him for his choice: Good Man!! The GOOD NEWS: I think he's interested in coming out to help me with the new Royale Formula Ford.....Dang, how did I get so lucky? Terry |
