I want to rebuild my alternator, and I am having trouble finding the diodes for sale. Also I cannot find the rubber parts associated with the alternator. I still have them: they are about 40 years old. So, I was thinking a refresh of diodes, bearings, brushes and rubber might be a good thing. I recognize that the smarter route is a rebuilt alternator or a new Chinese one. Any leads?

Thanks for your input. I'm gonna try this shop out near me. I've got two old alternators that may work but need to be refreshed. While the engine is out I may as well get them right.
