I want to rebuild my alternator, and I am having trouble finding the diodes for sale. Also I cannot find the rubber parts associated with the alternator. I still have them: they are about 40 years old. So, I was thinking a refresh of diodes, bearings, brushes and rubber might be a good thing. I recognize that the smarter route is a rebuilt alternator or a new Chinese one. Any leads?

QUOTE Just take it to a local starter/alternator shop and have them rebuild it. Usually around 60 bucks and they will do a better job than those repair stations in Mexico. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) with them dudes. We have one here that saved me when my ML320 Alt went out (fresh out of warrantee and only new to be had at $700 clams) $50.00 and back on the road. |
