Flanged nuts that take a 10mm socket. This sounds WAY easier to work with. Anyone try them?

I bought a box of 100 similar ones made of copper back quite a few years ago from a repair shop in Nebraska.
Wish I bought 2 boxes (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smoke.gif) I agree with reharvey, needs washers for SS exchangers |

I bought a box of 100 similar ones made of copper back quite a few years ago from a repair shop in Nebraska. Wish I bought 2 boxes (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smoke.gif) I agree with reharvey, needs washers for SS exchangers I seriously doubt the nuts you bought were copper, which would be a really poor choice of material for nut. Way too soft, it would be likely to round off while being tightened, or to fracture if it were hardened. They were most likely the everyday 12 or 13mm wrench size copper plated steel locking exhaust nuts used on BMWs and some water cooled VWs. Porsche and VW never used locking exhaust nuts on air cooled engines, and I don't recommend the use of such hardware at my shop. The Cap'n |
