I negotiated a group rate and have 15 rooms set up to start, The rate will be $99 a night, it's not a Motel 6, but not the W, but a good older hotel that will have a parking lot for us to "meet" in and they're ok with us BBQ'n in the parking lot.
There's not a lot of choice in that area that will meet our needs. This should meet our needs nicely. I'll have the group code for the rate in a few days. 2 Queens or King room. Not a ton of savings but $10-$20 a night less. http://www.shiloinns.com/search_results.asp?PI=EDAOR Tenative Schedule June 13th – Kickoff Cocktail hour at The Thirsty Woman 6:00PM Mosier, OR 97040 I-84 W (to the Dalles)- exit 69 (only 45 minutes from Portland) Make a RIGHT at EXIT RAMP STOP SIGN Follow the road towards Historic Highway Route 30+ Post Office Right on MAIN STREET and you are there! eric, a 300 mile shake down run prob isn't such a good idea. 300 or less before you set out to work out any bugs might save you major hassles. by the time you get home it'll be over 1000. seen it a few times...radiator failure on a v-8 conv, shift bushing go kaput, wheel bearing adj, cables...

We'll see how soon I get it put back together, and if I get to drive it much before hand. If I don't get much time to ensure it is reliable, I may trailer to the event. But only if you guys promise not to call my baby "Trailer Queen". (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ar15.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |

I've thought about doing some serious AX, but just can't see tearing up a good original 73' 2.0 survivor. I think her destiny is to take some fun runs in the Washington, Idaho, and Montana mountains. We have some incredible scenic switchbacks in this area that are just CRYING out for 914s to give them a try. I wouldn't mind putting putting in a few laps at the track though...just to have a legal place to get her up to 100 MPH, and then throw her into some turns. That would be some serious fun. I see your a PNW guy, so maybe I'll get to meet you at the WCR if my refurbish goes as planned. |
