As my wife and I pull out of the driveway yesterday in our truck, I glance at our Volvo sitting on the street.....I notice something odd about the drivers side...holy sh!t, some A-hole f'd up the side of the car with a screwdriver or something hard and sharp...right down to the metal.

We drove around the nieghborhood and saw at least 10 more cars that had the same type damage. There seemed to be no rhyme or reason as the vehicles hit. Upon talking to someone else that had been victimized, the police think it might be gang related due to one of the cars getting "X4" or some crap like that scratched into it.

The death penalty might be too harsh for this stuff, but I'd have no problem cutting off an apendage of thiers to give them a daily reminder of thier wrong doing.

About the only good thing about this, is that they didn't touch, our truck, the red car and most importanly the 911 that was (and still is (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) ) sitting in the driveway.

Bummer dude. Sorry to hear about that. I have no advice other than you could consider wiring the car to 110v and letting them find out the hard way.

I mounted little metal strips under the door handles on my first car when I was at college since I had to park the car two blocks away from the dorm all the time. I wired the strips straight to the battery using a little switch actuated by the cheap little $50 alarm I had. So if someone tried to open my car door with the alarm activated, they'd get a nice little zap. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif)

Never used it though as I was warned by a police officer that if someone did hurt themselves, especially like a small kid or something, I may be spending some quality time with Bubba in the state pen. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon8.gif)

I think the camera is the safest way. Perhaps least personally rewarding, but the safest. Or maybe that "Trunk Monkey". (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol2.gif)
