I dragged the '76 2.0 out of the garage the other day as my 15 year old has suddenly become a historian on Porsche 914s (he found my book "Excellence was Expected"). The topic of what car he wants has come up pretty regularly.

I'm not chopping up my '76 as it is still dead stock and complete but we've been looking through the ads for a father son project in another 914. Repowering has come up in conversation also.

I found this Dodge 2.5L Minivan engine for sale near Seattle for $400. We are not quite ready to start into a project, but I thought I'd share it to other 914 guys.

This engine swap could be fun as these turbo 4's are legendary for their durability and abiliity to stand up to stuipid boost.

Good luck..

Interesting

Doc.,

I'll probably be sending you two transaxles in the next year for rebuild. One for my '76 stocker and one for whatever my son and I settle upon for his first car. I'm still nervous though about cutting a 16 year old loose with a car that most suburbans can't see and wouldn't shrug after running over.....
