Clutch is out of a 2009 Civic SI with 89,000 miles.
Nieces car, she took it to the Dealer because clutch sometimes wouldn't disengage completely. They took it apart and found the disk broken.. A piece of the metal that holds the spring in place broke loose.. Clutch never slipped.. Just intermittently didn't disengage completely. Usual Dealership and Warranty Company issues now.. They say it is a wear item. Anyone ever see a clutch disk come apart like this ??? I have an appointment with the Regional Honda Warranty Rep next week to show it to him. Any idea's? |

Is it the original clutch?
89K miles is a lot, and the clutch is a wear item. Why would you fight this? If it was new and failed, I'd see your point. But it sounds like the clutch is as old as the car. |
