Anyone done this? Couldn't find any pictures showing if they will fit
without hitting the trunk wall. Thanks, Mark S. |

I also have the phenolic spacers, but don't know about the paper element.
What is the name or part number of the paper air filter element? I'm not that impressed with the K&N filter elements. |

It's probably easiest to refer you to the thread on pelican below: my post is about half-way down. pelican thread |

When you say you " clipped " the outer mesh screen how exactly did you do that ? Once you get the screen removal started does it just peel out or do you have to clip each pleat ? |

Mark thank you for the post on the over the counter filter elements ! When you say you " clipped " the outer mesh screen how exactly did you do that ? Once you get the screen removal started does it just peel out or do you have to clip each pleat ? The wire and paper are both encased in the silicone gasket material. I didn't do a lot of experimentation but found that cutting off the entire outer wire mesh, which is a lot of clipping, makes it very flexible. It may be possible to just cut the mesh vertically in a few places instead, or it could look better and be handled without risk of cutting yourself if the inner mesh was removed instead. Let us know. |
