I saw a pst the other day with a link to a Type 3 site. A friend of mine is bringing home a 68 1/2 Fastback w/ FI and an automatic. Any info on these cars would be appriciated.

Alex,

After four years of not running, I'd at least:

Change the oil.
Clean the strainer (there's no filter unless someone added one).
Drain the gas tank and pull the pickup and replace the screen.
Attempt to blow out the fuel lines with compressed air and Gumout to clean them.
Replace the fuel filter.
You may might want to pull the plugs and replace them. Squirt some marval oil or some such thing down the cylinders
Attempt to turn the engine over by hand with a wrench on the fan pully bolt, make sure it's free to turn - kind of hard to get to the bolt on a T3 engine...
Put a battery in and cross your fingers.

Good luck!
