It seems the past week or so, when I go to click my shortcut favorites to the site, it takes a lot longer for the site to load...

Other aspects of the site seem slower, like opening pages, posting responses, etc.

It does this at home and at work...

Hmmmm...

the DB is heavily indexed.
altough the "foreign key" implementation in mySQL is rather non-existent ...

the real bottleneck for this BBS is actually the PHP "spaghetti-code".
but, that was for free as well, so what the heck, i can live with restarting the board once a month!

it's running *ok* for what it is (a free flat-file database).
