Howdy everyone.
Still working out the gremlins on my v-8 converted 1973. The PO had the headlight system out and in order to make the car street legal here I have to make them work. The other day I installed everything except wiring up the hide away motors. After a few false starts I managed to get both the headlights working. Today I wired up the motors and while they work....they work wrong, lol. When I pull the light switch out to make the headlights go on, the hide aways close. I'm color blind (no, really I am) but I'm pretty sure I wired em up correctly using my LE project as a visual aid. Any ideas on what I did wrong? Thanks all :-) Evidently the passenger motor had a problem. I switched it out for another motor I had and it now works correctly. I wonder if those motors are rebuildable? Hate to toss the bad one if I can make it work again. It won't open. Glad I had a spare around. Still working on the wiper problem but pretty sure I have either a bad ignition switch or a bad fuse block. No power at position eight which powers up the wipers amongst several other things. |

The arms on the motors are 180 deg out. Or do they not work at all?

The arms on the motors are 180 deg out. Or do they not work at all? Couldn't wait so I made the adjustments tonight. Lol, solved half the problem.... I adjusted them so that they're not 180 out anymore and the drivers side headlamp and flip up come up correctly but the passenger headlight comes on with the flip up not flipping up. Odder still, with the key off and the headlights off, if I manually turn the flipup knob just as the flip up is starting to lift, it cycles through electronically open and then close. Not true when I have the key on and the headlights on....then it will not cycle at all until you manually open it all the way and then turn off the lights, then it will close. Do these have an adjustment screw somewhere or have I done something wrong? |
