Is Mobil 1 synthetic 20-50 a better oil for a teen in SoCal weather?

I'd only recommend hot rod oil formulated for flat tappet motors. Edelbrock, Lucas, Brad Penn, and Comp Cams make oil that meets those needs.

Joe Gibbs makes an oil specifically for flat tappet air cooled motors. You can order it from Jegs.
