Looking for a serviceable alternator cover tin. The one I have has the bolt hole rounded. Needless to say, this made alternator removal (in car) a huge PITA.

I might have one. Be aware that there are two different alternator tins. I pulled this one which has a different offset to the center hole. I think you may have a VW bus alternator.
Maybe this one could be used but the plastic ring used with it is different. Attached thumbnail(s) |

Maybe this one could be used but the plastic ring used with it is different. I wondered if there may be differences between engines/years, but figured someone here may educate me on that, too. Mine is off a '75 1.8L, but there is no telling what mods may have been done by POs. I have a replacement alternator, but have not yet looked to see if its different from what I removed. |
