my fuel pump also goes on when hazard switch is not pulled but key is turned.
the circuits have got to be connected somehow??? could this be a faulty relay board? or could it be that I put a wire on the wrong spot on the fuse box? my engine is a carbed sbc v8. i'm using the 2 harness wires to power my fuel pump. thanks jim Attached image(s)

seems my 14 pin plug has power at 12 and 14 pins with key off.
with ignition key turned, 12, 14, and 8 and 3, have power. I was expecting one pin to flash with the hazards but none did. but I guess without plug connected to relay panel, that was an ill conceived expectation. pins 11 and 6 are empty. its got to be how I wired my fuse box??? Attached image(s)

What magic color is the wire on pin number 13? From the post above, hand drawn diagram on page one of this thread. No meter needed to follow this wire...just unwrap tape and find it all the way back to a power source...you need to physically see where the wire is getting its power from. Someone may have changed color of wire along the way...so look for the area that may have been patched. trace that wire through the relay board (meter), through the tunnel...(eyeballs) find it when it comes out of the tunnel harness and heads up towards the fuse panel. Eyeballs again. Follow it to power (eyeballs and meter)...it may be fed by the wrong side of the flasher relay and your flasher relay is broken, or just wired wrong. I recall you stated that the area above the fuse panel had a meltown or fire....so who knows what they did when putting it back together. Rich |
