Apparently there was a contractual 'window of opportunity' and Williams did a deal with Jenson Button.

BAR claim to have a solid option, but the rumor is that BAR didn't legally take up their option for 2005 on time and that allowed a deal to be done over a day or so!

Interesting battle ahead over that.

Also, it will be interesting to see who replaces him at BAR - Mika Hakkinen has been mentioned since he wants back in.

Mika Hakkinen has said, that there is no smoke without fire, when he was asked about coming back and coming back to the wheels of BAR !?!?!
