I'm calling on my 914 brothers for their valued opinions. Please help! I'm looking to buy a 3.6 vario-ram 3.6L motor for my 914 and I was wondering what you guys think about this? The company I'm looking to buy the engine from will not provide any compression check data, they say they just won't do it. But they will provide leak down check info. This engine is pretty pricey and I was wondering if not receiving the compression check data would be a deterant for you guys in buying this engine. Thanks a ton!

The seller is LA Dismantlers. The engine is still in the car and they offered it up to me to drive, which I will. The engine has 61,000 miles and the leak down numbers are 3-4%...pretty good if that's true.

I have dreams of doing what your going to do. I see them at the local Porsche meets and they will tell you any thing you want to hear. I simply look at them and just think to myself...now I was not born yesterday - but the day before. Good luck on this journey....post when your done. |
