Trying to find info on the serial numbers for 901 transmissions. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Is there a site I can go to for info?

Well, right off the bat (and despite what people say here), that's NOT a "901". It's a "914". If it's a '70-Sept.-'72 tail shifter, it's a 914/11. If it's a late 1972-1976 and has a side shifter, it's a 914/12. Yours will have a number like this: HA xx (day) xx (month) x (year, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) The specs book lists no actual serial numbers (called "consecutive running numbers") for transmissions built after September 30, 1972. I don't know if that means they stopped numbering them.

As for your number, its quite possible the trans could have been converted from tail shift to side shift. I've done at least a couple dozen, and there are a LOT of qualified trans techs out there who've probably done the same ...............
