I have a 67 Beetle that needs more zip and no way to I want to be passed on the freeway again. I am hoping this forum will assist me by transplanting a Porsche engine and transmission in to the old bug.

When I was a kid I was blown away by a bug with a porsche engine.

You'll probably find more folks with conversion expertise over on http://www.shoptalkforums.com , in the "Type 4um". One member there, Joe Cali, sells a booklet on how to do the conversion, making pretty much all of the conversion parts yourself. There's a whole lot of info there, do a search when you get there and you'll see a whole lot.
