I was on a business trip to Toronto and looked up Dave Pateman, who is our 914 historian - Dave has collected data on 914s almost since before they were produced.
Dave coordinated a fun time in Toronto last evening and some of these guys drove for hours to hold this soiree - after a long day at the office no less. Left to right: John Lorefice - 914 LE Bumblebee ORIGINAL OWNER, only original Bumblebee owner alive (known to exist), John had a great story of when he bought his car and they let him and other new 914 owners loose on the Mosport track. Dave Pateman - 914 LE Bumblebee owner, alternator rebuilder, brake guy and walking 914 encyclopedia Mark Henry - Engine/tranny builder Me Mike Galloway - Mikes 914s - long time 914 specialist Mike and Mark earn their living serving the 914 community (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif) These guys collectively are a unbelievable wealth of 914 knowledge and stories - and all around great guys. A memorable time was had by all. I would definitely look these gentlemen up if you in the area. If you travel and have the opportunity, look up your 914 buds - these cars are not just about the cars, a bigger part of the 914 experience is about the people. Attached thumbnail(s) |

I made it to the Evil clinic last year in the outskirts of Elizabethville, hosted by Mr. Henry. Had a good time, got to meet a bunch of Canuckians including Balljoint, MDG, Ian Stott and others whose names I can't remember. Mark kindly let us camp in (and destroy) his back yard. Learned to speak Canadian pretty quick, eh?
And spent some time in Halifax a few years back. Despite the lingering memories over 1812, great country and people, want to go back, maybe to the Canadian Rockies next time, or to the Maritimes again, or to Brother Jones's crack house close by Mark. |

Stop in Moncton Walter, we can go to the lobster bar! First drink is on meI you can park your trailer in my driveway, or use the campground next door to me. Enjoyed the clinic and have fond memories of our group and of Mark trying hard to light himself on fire! Ian Stott Moncton Canada |
