I need to replace the mass air flow sensor on my 1974 1.8 914. I ordered a rebuilt Bosch one; however, it does not fit. It looks identical to the one on the car, except it is 7 prong power line plug instead of 6. My wire harness for power does not fit. The company I ordered the mass air flow sensor insists that the one they sent me is the correct one, number 0280 200 001. Just match the numbers right? Well the Mass Air Flow sensor on my car has had the last part of the numbers scratched off or damaged. I cant read them. Partial numbers read 0280 ... .... and underneath is another set of numbers that read 473 906 ... The company I ordered from was BWD.
Any suggests, guidance/help is much appreciated. Thanks Mike |

Thanks Mike Who is "BWD"? The Cap'n Probably a reseller because pretty much all the remanufacture of Air Flow Meters was being done by a company in Orange that was sold and is in the Bay Area now. I forget the name but it isn't BWD. Edit: Bret Industries |
