This is kind of neat, except now we all know what your kill switch looks like . . .

Blends right in with the rest of the knobs and dash on the 914.

Removable key operated battery cutoff switch with recessed metal color and 914 knob cap. When these sort of switches are installed in the dash or panel, the opening for the key is exposed, but with the recessed collar in place and the knob top snapped on, it looks like any other dash switch.

Complete disguised. Lock the battery, snap on the cap and done. When you return, just unsnap the cap, insert the plastic key, turn and start the car.

Pretty cool, custom made, an added bit of safety, and easy to install.

There IS only one of these, so if you buy it, don't tell anyone about this ad and nobody will be able to start your car when you're not there.

Before you grab it, this is how it would be installed. Make sure that this is a procedure that you can handle. It can be installed against/behind any flat surface, but this would be how you might put it in the dash.

You have a choice with the switch of interrupting the 12 volt source to the ignition or interrupting the 12 volt source to the starter. If interrupting the starter source, then long battery cables would be needed. If interrupting the ignition, then a few lengths of simple ignition wire would be used, regardless the remainder of the procedure is the same.

First disconnect the battery. IMPORTANT ! ! !

Drill a hole in the dash or console or panel or wherever you're mounting the switch to match the diameter of the collar just under the lip. Looks like 1 7/16" would be right, but a test on a cardboard template wouldn't hurt. You want the lip to secure against the dash face (or whatever) surface and the cup or collar to fit into the hole. You can use a dab or two of silicone, Goop, or Gorilla glue on the back side to hold it in place.

Slide the kill switch through the collar opening from behind and pop the knob top onto it. Position the depth of the swith shaft so the the knob can easily be removed and fashion a bracket or two to hold the switch in that position.

Wire it up and done.

If it seems hard to do, the switch isn't for you.
