We had some F.O. time, so we went exploring. It's amazing what's left in little caches all over this country... there was enough ordnance to wipe Cleveland off the map forever - in just one little area.

people who have been REALLY LOOKING for live ordinance are still finding it on the beaches at Normandy, vacant lots in England, and all through Fort Ord (Laguna Seca...). this is stuff that was not hidden on purpose, it just fell there - and people have been looking for it for 50 years...
imagine how hard it'd be to find this stuff if it HAD been hidden on purpose ... |
