I bought a used transaxle that I am hoping shifts better than the one I have.
If it doesn't then at least I have a core to rebuild while the car is still on the road. Can I just lower the rear of the trans a bit and swap out the gear stack or am I looking at taking the entire transaxle out? Thanks, Scott |

You can not just swap the stacks. The pinion shaft and ring gear are a mated set and must not be interchanged. Your best bet would be to rebuild the core and swap it in whole. Then you can sell or rebuild the one in the car now and keep as a backup. |
