Engine code help needed, GC for 914? |

I just picked up a 2.0 car that has an engine with GC001994 on the case north of the oil filler. My Haynes shows 2.0L cars begin with GA or GB. Multiple web sites show that a GC is also 2.0, but the bus depot site also shows GC as 1.8 L jet. I am pretty sure it's not the original engine. A little help...

There were 2 editions of Haynes 1973 and 1975. The later edition may show the GC engines...not sure.
