First, I want to positively verify that a particular 915 type Sporto coarse flange will work in the 914 box. I have two 108mm transaxle output flanges with a 925XXXXX part number indicating from a 915 Sporto (not a 901 Sporto). I carefully measured them and they are precisely the same as the 914 type (except the size of the flange!). If anyone wants it, I can get the part number off mine (they are in the shop)... I happened to see a couple of these on EBay for what I think is cheap money.

On the other side, in the trailing arm, the 108mm flange is quite the tight fit! So that and the 5 lug 911 hubs are all installed with new bearings in the trailing arms.

Soooo... I intend to use new 930 type CV's and SwayAway axles. Does anyone know offhand the required axle length? I don't have the 993 engine in the car yet but want to get these things ordered. Seems to me the axles should be slightly shorter than standard 914 since the 930 CV's are a bit thicker.

Yes, I have checked for this info here... if the info is here, sorry I missed it in my search!

Thanks,
R

I used these chromoly axles on my car:

They cost a little less than the sway aways.

You'll also want to get these:

Much easier to deal with than the normal lock rings.

20.25" is the length you want. I've got early 911 108mm 4-bolt flanges, CV's, and stub axles. I've got probably 1,000 miles on the axles so far and no complaints.
