It seems to have faded into memory but not for me. Just wanted to say thx to all of our Vet's; present and deceased. God bless. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Those men and women who served in WWII gave way more than we do these days. They were often ill equiped and away from families for years, not to mention much higher casualty rates. Today we have Skype, satellite phones and the internet to stay in touch during 9-12 month deployments, not just letters that may never make it across the ocean. I have incredible respect for those who served before me, and make it my duty to make my young Soldiers understand this.

And for that respect, we salute you. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif)

My father flew in WWII and at Pearl Harbor. They were definately our greatest generation. I fear what our kids in 10 years will be willing to do in war. They don't work now in school, will they when we need them to protect us? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) (Our only hope is war will be staged through video game type technology, which they are equipped to do sitting on their ass) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif)

I made comparisons to that generation this afternoon in a review meeting turned to a critique meeting of a 26 year old. I challenged him to research my fathers generation and how they lived and what their word meant to them, etc. if they said they would do a job, by god they did it or died trying. As a millineal, he of course did not want to work that hard to understand or prove a point.
