I gots oil comin' outta the place where the speedometer cable attaches. Not actually where it screws in but where the thingy goes into the tranny. I've tightened it at the housing but that doesn't seem to help and it swivels. I saw where an "O" ring is on the shaft via the Haynes manual pictures. Is this the seal that keeps the tranny fluid in?

The spedo angle screws into a housing. The housing mounts onto the tranny case. It is secured by a bolt. The housing contains an o-ring. However, it sounds like your leaking on the angle drive itself. Either replace the angle drive, or put some hylomar around it to keep it from leaking. Clean it off with some brake cleaner 1st. You'll be replacing your tranny fluid if you take it out. Try the hylomar 1st. Just a though. Brad recommended it to me. Seals things quite nicely.
