Just got home from the ECR.
Small adventures are fun ! Bought a 914 on Friday in Boston, drove towards the ECR, busted a CV joint 10 miles from the site. Made it on the back of a flatbed. Diagnosed the problem, with the invaluable help of Ed Morrow and others. Saturday morning, Ed shows up with a complete halfshaft and explains how to do the work, Tom Eberlein (sp?) has all the tools - and a cv gasket ! - and we get the work done. Drove the ramble without a hitch, then put 350 miles on the car to return to Montreal. Ralf Hartman was kind enough to ride herd for me practically to the border. Great weekend.
