I'm not going to comment on whether the Buy It Now price is right or "wrong," as that's for the seller and buyer to work out, but it does prompt a thought:
If I were to buy this, do the body (unless it's a roach), and transfer all of the parts from my very stockfish six conversion and then sell my car as a nicely painted chassis ready to accept parts, I probably wouldn't lose too much money—certainly not as much as I would trying to move from my car to a 914-6 that's equally nice. I would end up with a real 914-6, and, at this level of restoration, I would probably paint it whatever period color I wanted to. Thing is, it wouldn't be the 914 I had in high school, and this hobby never was about money (or serial numbers, for that matter) for me. pete |

I have to admit - I'd pay a pretty penny for my first 914. No clue where it ended up. But, I was thinking about calling the DMV and seeing if they will give me a list of all VINs I have ever owned, and then seeing if I could find it. Sorry to wander OT. |
