Here is my take on Negative camber: You are only going to lay down a certain amount of tire based on your driving. I feel that very very good drivers can use more negative camber than a rookie. You send a rookie out with tons of negative camber and he wont use all of the tire. There is NO magic camber number. Some tires work better with more negative camber than others. I want all of the tire on the ground in the corners. With that statement: how fast are YOU going ??
I had this conversation the other night with a friend of mine that runs a RSR EVO in the POC. He kept going out on setups based on other cars that ran the same tires as he does. He pulled out almost 2 degrees of negative camber from the 4 they had in the car.. he was 2 seconds faster than his closest competitor. So be careful "listening" to what others have to say about setups. What works for somebody else may not work for you. You need to find out what DOES work for you. TonyC has a ton of info on this and will hopefully pipe in with some beginner settings for your Kuhmo's. I know of 2 fast people in 914's that run Kuhmo's, the rest of them are on Hoosiers. B |
