I believe that 1/2" guideline in the pelican write up is conservative. My car had about 3/4" of play with the cable off. And plenty of thread left to adjust with a few of those 1/4" spacers before the nuts. try mounting it up and see. Just leave the CV bolts for last when you're sure its all good.
