Anyone here have experience with self contained 12V AC compressor ?
Mounts remote from engine, driven by electric motor. Seems it might be a way to have AC on a 6 conversion. Jegs sells them in two capacities. Pretty spendy. |

Boating world has made some great progress in sure small heat/AC units running off 12 Vdc.
Those are sized to service large cabins maybe ten time the size of a 914 cabin. From what I have read, these are just how it's done now. Taking that design and scaling it down...I don't see any reason why it would not work fine....just need to see the power requirements. Heating and cooling with electricity is not magic, it takes power to make heat and cooling... |

That being said, when you increase the output of the alternator don't you increase the power consumed to spin it? I would be curious to know which set up was more efficient.
