I am just going by what I have read elsewhere that they welded up all the chassis and painted them using all the available body panels that were good. They then finished the cars as needed for the dealers.
Remember Porsche was even looking to build and assemble the 914 elsewhere and decided it was too expensive to move the whole operation. Geoff |
